So, why this?

Hey! I hope you enjoy the look of my site. My name is Anayah, and in August of 2025 I made the decision to abandon social media for an endless number of reasons; it did awful numbers for my self-esteem, mental health, sense of worth, and despite its intended purpose, did not enrich my life socially and actually made it harder to socialize and to connect with others. This in conjunction with the false news my friends and I were being fed, along with AI and short-form content, finally convinced me to leave all of the platforms I inhabited. It was not until January of 2026 that I taught myself to code and began building this beauty from scratch on Neocities! This is a spot for me to express myself and is something I consider to be a window into my soul, which is why everything is so incredibly sparkly and pink. I miss the old web, and by rejecting moderninity in the form of the social hellscape that Meta, Microsoft, and Bytedance have given us, I have carved space for myself here, forever, so that I may talk about the things I enjoy in life. P.S. This was made on a 1440 ⨯ 900 monitor, so I am hoping and praying it looks good on your end. Do not even bother opening my website on mobile because it would be an unreadable mess.
