GUESS WHO THREW A SUCCESSFUL CHESS TOURNAMENT????? THIS GAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE THE GALL TO THROW AN ACTUAL COOL EVENT OMG OMG I AM SOOO HAPPY!
Okay, so I had no idea as to what to expect of the event and I can't lie to you guys, initially I thought people wouldn't be interested in my table. Look at how WRONG I was.

Can you catch the cowboy who was totally photobombing the entire time?
Hopefully you can see it despite Carrd's weird 2mb quota max. Also, I know the layout of this blog looks like a mess but as long as you can read it I'm so not worried. I'M SO OVERJOYED!
I had the best time. Initially, when I wasn't so confident in the turnout, the club and I set up some chess puzzles for people to solve on about 2/5 of the mats and left the other ones out for casual play. Very quickly, people just started arranging the board into its starting position and all five were busy for all three hours of the event. One guy was wracking his brain for the answer to the chess puzzle I set up initially before someone took it down and I couldn't even tell him! I taught about three people how to play chess that day and because its a community college it was way easier than teaching O, and everyone caught on so fast. One game between a girlfriend and boyfriend went on for an hour. The cute cowboy who was photobombing my pictures for most of the event was talking to me and even gave me slices of pizza; I didn't realize until I was walking to my car that I had a whole "MAKE AMERICA COWBOY AGAIN" t-shirt on.
There was a guy who had a very cool beyblade table and I was talking to him for a bit while someone watched my table, and he told me about this mobile game he was playing while he tended to his table. I was just there, spinning his beyblades, and omg please don't ask me the name of the mobile app because I don't remember :( It was a resource farming war game though. The most incredible part of our meeting was that he told me he was the one who tried to start a chess club at our community college the year previous, and I thought that was genuinely so amazing.
Ughh I miss it. So much fun and I'm just glad it went well because after two of my club memberrs help me set up, it was just me manning the tablle and with my overactive animal brain I was so nervous about something not going the way I had wanted it to. Also, so many girls sat down to play and THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!
Anayah had a ball today!!! Nu OUT!!!
